South Gloucestershire Business Show 2018

The South Gloucestershire Business Show was held at the Bristol and Bath Science Park, Bristol, over two days, 3rd and 4th October 2018. Xor Systems had a stand there and it was a great show! We met a lot of really interesting people, made new friends and caught up with old friends
We showed our 6-inch ruler, again, which always gets really favourable comments. It contains switches, LEDs and a microcontroller. There are three sections on the ruler, and each section illustrates the basic components of a computer. There's a section that explains logic, a section that illustrates memory cells and a section that shows counting in binary.
The rule edges are marked in Inches and in millimetres, with the numbers in binary. It is branded with our logo and contact details and makes a great give-away, much more memorable than a coffee cup, or USB stick!
We also showed a self-balancing robot which is something we built to illustrate our capabilities. It is capable of standing itself up on one edge and then balancing, maintaining its position. It is hard to knock over, but if it does fall, then it simply spins the flywheel to generate enough momentum to stand back up again. It's a great treat to watch and went down well with our visitors!
We had lots of visitors over the two days of the show, lots of catch-up with clients and partners, and met some new people. It's always a pleasure!
